Hello and welcome to the 135th edition of the Screenshot of the Week!

To start with, congratulations to the winner of the previous contest! nobody's screenshot from won with 14 upvotes!

To submit a screenshot, simply post it as an answer to this question, but please take note of the following:

  • One screenshot per post, and one post per person, please!
  • Limited picture modifications are allowed, such as cropping, simple filters, and blurring of identifying info such as names, but not adding other images or text.
  • To ensure a fair playing field, please post screenshots you've taken yourself rather than ones you found online.
  • Stack Exchange’s Code of Conduct still applies - so if it would be unacceptable to post normally, it’s unacceptable here.

Also, try to avoid pictures that include spoilers. We want everyone to be able to enjoy this contest, so the less spoilers the better.

How long will the contest run?

We will accept submissions for a week, until February 17, 2025, then have a week-long period where only voting will be accepted. This is to give every submission, even those posted at the end of the first week, a chance to be voted on by everyone.

After the end of the second week, at February 24, 2025, we will count upvotes only to determine the winning screenshot, which will be featured for a week on the main site's photo widget.

Alone

Something on its own in a much larger setting - a player, a rock, a tower, whatever.

As a reminder, we're always accepting suggestions for themed weeks, and have compiled that suggestion process into a question of its own. Additionally, there is the hall of fame you can check out that contains all the previous contest winners.

    I'll take note of that. If I do manage to get a good quality picture with my phone camera, than I can send it? I'm trying to find ways to send screenshots not just Minecraft related.

    @Alex If you have a computer or console (any of the "Big Three" (Xbox, PS, Switch), you could take a screenshot of that and upload it to your computer (if you have one).

Man, does it look beautiful.

Isaac Clarke is looking at Aegis VII from the broken hull of the Ishimura. Since he's standing in a vacuum, it says in his back he has 58.8 seconds of oxygen remaining.

    Not gonna lie, it's one of those games where I felt rather lonely throughout the game. Either because you're alone, or anyone you meet eventually dies.

    I almost thought this was that scene in Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, when you meet the Deku Sprout in front of the dead Deku Tree, after you save Saria from the Forest Temple (Darn, now I have her song stuck in my head).

    That's just a floor decoration. Not sure if it's a painting per se, but it's flat at any rate. For comparison, here's a shot from before the fight.

    @Alex Less likely here because you would have probably walked near/over it accidentally during the preceding fight, but it wouldn't be the worst guess. The game does have holes in the ground that take you someplace (both the purply smoky one near the top of the image and the yellow glowy one at the bottom left).

  • I mean, Minecraft is all I got that will allow me to make screenshots. I have a Wii U, but that doesn’t do Screenshots. I have to be really clever and really funny with Minecraft to score higher. ????
